Is Kirkwood worth it salary-wise?

OK so I'm a 53-year-old graphic designer and The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 29,302 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 15 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in finance. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
