Unpopular opinion about Kirkwood

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 30s, and You can expect to pay around $1,293 for rent here. Median household income is $117,439, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 29,302 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I'm a chef and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Came here for family and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The housing market is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Greenfield for 14 years. Moved from Charlotte for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is tough - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Far from beaches/mountains. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 7/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..
