Is Kissimmee a good place to live?

I'm retired and Median household income is $51,277, which feels on the lower side for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The walkability scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community vibe is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
