Kissimmee vs Orlando -which is better?

Anyone else feel this way? My partner and I are Median household income is $51,277, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $51,277 in Kissimmee. The unemployment rate is 5.1%, which is about average. The median home value here is around $273,900, which seems about average. With a population of 79,504, Kissimmee is a smaller city. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Close to nature
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Boring for young people
- Mosquitoes and humidity
Should I be concerned? Appreciate any input. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 51, moved here 15 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Greenfield and Old Town, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The safety situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for young professionals. solid vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much growing but now it's better than expected.
