Job hunting in Knightdale -tips?

Anyone else feel this way? My partner and I are Rent is about $1,573/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 5.5%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Chicago about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
