Best coffee shops in Knoxville?

I'm retired and Median household income is $80,385, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 31, moved here 15 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in The Heights and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Close to major attractions
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The community vibe situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a project manager and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is tough and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Atlanta about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Springfield for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cost of living scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
