Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Knoxville? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1116 for a 2BR/2BA which feels okay for the area.
Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

Don't sleep on Lakewood. It's up and coming and still affordable.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

The food scene here is seriously underrated. So many great restaurants.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Midtown. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

I've lived in Eastside for 13 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.

Check out the Eastside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

The job market has been improving lately. Several retail companies moved in recently.
