Curious what people think. I've been here for 6 years and Average temperature is around 60°F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a mid-size city city with about 194K people. Poverty rate is 13.0%, which is around average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thoughts? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Uptown for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The dating scene scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 1 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is improving in most areas.
