Top 5 things I love about Knoxville

Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2018. Rent is about $1,116/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in tech. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 9 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
