What I wish I knew before living in Knoxville

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $214,000, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider — Knoxville sits at 667.3 per 100K. Average temperature is around 60°F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Would love some local perspective.

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
