Hey folks, I'm a remote worker and Rent is about $1,669/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? Thanks!

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 15 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in The Heights for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- The nightlife scene is improving
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in The Heights area are average. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Phoenix it's decent.
