Hey folks, Rent is about $807/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $76,800 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
