Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. With a population of 2,323, Kure Beach is a small town. Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $633,800, which is pretty steep. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
