Just moved to La Cresta, any tips?

I relocated for work and It's a a small town city with about 8,558 people. Crime rate is something to consider -La Cresta sits at 456.7 per 100K. Median household income is $49,836, which feels on the lower side for the area. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
