Biggest downsides of living in La Crosse?

First post here. Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $53,803 in La Crosse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 12 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The school system is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
