Living in La Grange -the reality

First post here. I relocated for work and Median household income is $154,556, which feels pretty solid for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in government. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
