Is La Habra a good place to live?

The median home value here is around $716,700, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. With a population of 62,233, La Habra is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Let me know your thoughts. TIA! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 15 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much pricey but now it's hit or miss.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..

Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in government. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Indian.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Phoenix about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 3 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:

- Lots of new development happening
- The community vibe scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Thai.

No regrets on my end..
