Most overrated things about La Junta

Curious what people think. Born and raised here. Median household income is $54,253, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $54,253 in La Junta. Poverty rate is 18.8%, which is higher than I expected. Homes are going for about $180,700 on average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
