I'm a nurse at the local hospital and With a population of 18,833, La Marque is a small town. Average temperature is around 72--F, so it's warm year-round. Homes are going for about $189,400 on average. Rent is about $1,375/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Southern.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Charlotte it's better than expected.
