Moving from Austin to La Mesa next month

Hey, Crime rate is something to consider -La Mesa sits at 290.7 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thoughts? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor recreation is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
