Longtime lurker here, I'm a 55-year-old social worker and Poverty rate is 7.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 2,510 people. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The job market is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Portland it's excellent.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

The food scene here is surprisingly good. Tons of great Mexican places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
