Curious what people think. The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 10,470 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for reading. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Boston it's better than expected.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 32, moved here 14 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Strong sense of community
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The safety situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Cedar Grove: Great for families. solid vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $50K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
