Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Charlotte about 1 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2022 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
