Commute times in LaBelle -how bad?

We have two kids and Median household income is $49,385, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $49,385 in LaBelle. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation? The city has invested a lot in new development.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Boston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The nightlife is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 6 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
