Working in Lacey -salaries realistic?

Hey folks, Rent is about $1,805/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Thanks in advance!

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Boston it's excellent.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Old Town area are tough. Kids love it here.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Greenfield area are challenging. Kids love it here.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Indian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for family and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The healthcare is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the East side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a lawyer, 38, moved here 11 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Old Town and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The weather situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for young professionals. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $60K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.
