Commute times in Lackland AFB -how bad?

Random thought, I've been here for 9 years and The unemployment rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 6,650 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Lackland AFB sits at 374.1 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 9 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into running, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
