Dog-friendly places in Laconia?

People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective.

I've lived in Riverside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The food scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Portland about 11 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is average.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 33, moved here 13 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in West and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Low crime in most neighborhoods
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The pet-friendliness situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for young professionals. excellent vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
