Is it worth buying in Laconia?

Hey, My family moved here when I was a kid. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Anyone in a similar situation? Looking forward to hearing from you all. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is average in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 10 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
