Job market in Ladonia for tech?

Hey everyone, Median household income is $52,045, which feels on the lower side for the area. Rent is about $1,058/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $102,900, which is actually reasonable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Hope this helps!.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 39, moved here 13 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Midtown and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The traffic situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Midtown: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $50K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The cultural scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely decent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The dating scene is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
