Moving to Lafayette -what should I know?

I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $2,855 for rent here. Household incomes average around $222,393 in Lafayette. Crime rate is something to consider -Lafayette sits at 14.9 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 25,277 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What would you do? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.
