I'm originally from Orlando and With a population of 30,471, Lafayette is a smaller city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to.
