Alright, Been living here since 2015. Median household income is $110,431, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Lafayette sits at 213.4 per 100K. Household incomes average around $110,431 in Lafayette. The unemployment rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Maple Ridge area are improving. Kids love it here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Pittsburgh it's challenging.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much stable but now it's tough.
