Working remotely from Lafayette

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $157,600, which is actually reasonable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Lafayette? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in West for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- The food scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
