Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. Median household income is $61,454, which feels about average for the area. Household incomes average around $61,454 in Lafayette. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
