Job hunting in Lafayette — tips?

Hi all, My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $61,454, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 71°F, so it's warm year-round. The median home value here is around $251,300, which seems about average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I've lived in Springfield for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The school system scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.
