Been meaning to ask this. Military spouse here. Average temperature is around 77--F, so it's warm year-round. The median home value here is around $380,200, which seems about average. Homes are going for about $380,200 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,379 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here? Thanks for reading. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much affordable but now it's hit or miss.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.
