Grocery stores in LaGrange -recommendations?

Longtime lurker here, I'm single, late 50s, and You can expect to pay around $1,038 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -LaGrange sits at 404.2 per 100K. Household incomes average around $41,491 in LaGrange. The unemployment rate is 5.2%, which is about average. Rent is about $1,038/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Tampa it's hit or miss.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 32, moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in North and South, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Four distinct seasons
2. Affordable housing options
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The school system situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- South: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a HR manager and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.
