We have two kids and Poverty rate is 21.7%, which is higher than I expected. Crime rate is something to consider -LaGrange sits at 404.2 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
