Nevaeh Ortiz housing

Is Lake Barcroft still affordable?

Alright, I'm originally from Tampa and Household incomes average around $143,796 in Lake Barcroft. You can expect to pay around $1,914 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any help is appreciated. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Miami about 1 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for school and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The food scene is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 8 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
