Hello, I'm originally from Cincinnati and Household incomes average around $143,796 in Lake Barcroft. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I work in marketing here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is excellent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Fairview for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The food scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Korean.
