Honest thoughts on life in Lake Camelot

So, I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Has anyone dealt with this?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely pretty good and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Old Town) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Boston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..
