Hey, I've been here for 8 years and You can expect to pay around $980 for rent here. Median household income is $42,386, which feels on the lower side for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thanks! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Denver about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good airport with direct flights
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is better than expected.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
