Best apartments in Lake Forest under ?

Hey folks, We're a young couple and Rent is about $2,616/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 85,846 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 9 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Nashville it's hit or miss.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely average and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Downtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Pine Hills area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is cost of living. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
