Co-working spaces in Lake Forest?

I work in food service and The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in Downtown for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The pet-friendliness scene is decent

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Mediterranean places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 10 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
- The housing market scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 3 years. Moved from Denver for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Dating scene is rough. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've been in The Heights for 3 years. Moved from Baltimore for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. healthcare is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is improving - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited shopping options. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely improving and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (The Heights) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for school and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community vibe is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Springfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

No regrets on my end..

I've been in South for 13 years. Moved from Atlanta for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. South schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Far from beaches/mountains. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
