Is it worth buying in Lake Forest?

Longtime lurker here, I work in hospitality and Homes are going for about $876,300 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 85,846 people. Household incomes average around $131,378 in Lake Forest. Rent is about $2,616/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $2,616 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Sprawl everywhere
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Limited cultural events
What neighborhoods would you suggest? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I'm a writer and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is average and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in The Heights area are underrated. Kids love it here.
