Quick question about Lake Forest

Hey, My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $909,800 on average. It's a a small town city with about 19,190 people. Median household income is $228,120, which feels pretty solid for the area. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Am I wrong here? Thanks for reading. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in Highland for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Diverse dining options
- The dating scene scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in East. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
