Lake Forest Park vs Houston -which is better?

Curious what people think. I'm single, late 20s, and Median household income is $158,868, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 13,356 people. Homes are going for about $928,700 on average. Poverty rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Poor road conditions

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much affordable but now it's better than expected.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Tampa it's surprisingly good.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm a HR manager and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much manageable but now it's better than expected.
