Unpopular opinion about Lake Goodwin

Not sure if this has been asked before, but With a population of 5,682, Lake Goodwin is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $104,028, which feels pretty solid for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Growing food scene
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..
