Hi all, Just moved here 5 months ago and Crime rate is something to consider -Lake Holm sits at 214.1 per 100K. The median home value here is around $720,700, which is pretty steep. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The safety is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 4 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value public transit, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely solid and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (The Heights) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
