What to expect moving to Lake in the Hills?

Hello, Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $1,634 for rent here. Homes are going for about $296,400 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thanks for reading. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
